Learning on the Farm July 23-26, 2013

Come along with a team of food explorers from Forest Ridge to discover the community that is Quillisascut Farm, where we’ll meet farmers Rick and Lora Lea Misterly and experience “growing” our meals from farm to table. Chef Instructor Kären Jurgensen will lead us in cooking with whole locally grown foods inspired by the season and what we harvest from area farms.

  • Gain skills to continue the work of developing healthy kids and happy communities at school.
  • Empower our youth to become humanly concerned global citizens.

Arrive mid afternoon July 23 and leave after breakfast on July 26 tuition $595 per person. Tuition includes all course materials, meals and lodging. (transportation not included)

“There can be no greater connection to food than to be immersed in the place where it is grown, where all of your
senses are involved, your hands in the dirt, the heady smell of cheese in process, each meal a culmination of the day’s
work.” Chef Kären Jurgensen
